College scholarships for military students

Our college offers the following scholarships for US military students:

Active Duty Military Scholarship

If you are on active duty or a dependent of an active-duty service member, you may be eligible to receive the difference between the current standard tuition and $250. You may also be able to apply other military benefits, lowering the cost of school even further.

To be eligible, you must be enrolled in a program at Globe University, be an active duty service member of the Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Navy, Marines or National Guard and be able to provide proof of your active-duty status. Family members of active-duty military personnel are also eligible. To find out about other requirements, contact a financial aid representative.

Purple Heart Scholarship

Our college awards an amount that covers all tuition and fees remaining after federal and state financial aid and veteran’s benefits are applied to a student’s account.

This scholarship is for service members and veterans who were wounded while serving in the following wars: Operation Desert Storm, Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. In addition, spouses and dependents of service members killed in action are eligible. To learn if you are qualified, contact a financial aid representative.

Military Advantage Scholarship

This scholarship provides 10% of the cost of quarterly tuition and books and can be used to supplement military benefits, such as the GI Bill.

To qualify, you must be one of the following:

  • Active duty
  • Active reserves
  • Veterans honorably discharged
  • Spouses and dependents of people in any of these statuses

Applicants must prove status with a DD Form 214, a military ID card or other documentation of status. A financial aid representative can help you determine whether you might be qualified for this scholarship.

Military Service Scholarship

This scholarship awards amounts that vary based on the program in which the student enrolls:

  • $1,000 for applicants enrolled in diploma programs
  • $2,500 for applicants enrolled in associate degree programs
  • $5,000 for applicants enrolled in bachelor’s degree programs

To receive this scholarship, students must be participants in the Severely Injured Joint Operations Center that assists people returning from service in Iraq and Afghanistan. Spouses or dependent children of participants may also be eligible. To learn if you are qualified, contact a financial aid representative.

Military liaison staff

In addition to providing special scholarships for military students, Globe University-La Crosse provides dedicated Military Liaison services.
