Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in Veterinary Technology

Globe University emphasizes hands-on, practical training. Our vet tech students get their hands dirty. Technical studies include the following:

  • Laboratory techniques
  • Nutrition and nursing
  • Animal anatomy
  • Anesthesiology
  • Veterinary pharmacology
  • Surgical assisting

In addition to technical and scientific courses, students complete business courses that prepare them to assist in a clinic office, and general education classes that prepare them to interact with diverse populations and that strengthen their communication and analytical skills. The associate in veterinary technology program can be completed in 21 months of full-time study.

College credit for prior learning

Many students have already completed some college or have course equivalent on-the-job training before they enroll at Globe University-La Crosse. Our college grants credit for applicable college classes, job-related or military training or course-equivalent work experience. We do not charge tuition or fees for these credits and will evaluate students’ transcripts and resumes free of charge. Please contact your campus dean about the process of applying for credit.
